Instructions to Download All Papers

To create a standalone local copy of the IEEE VTC2020-Spring proceedings, you must have a valid registration for the conference (click here to register). All papers will be watermarked with the registrant’s information, and there are restrictions on usage and distribution.

A browser plug-in such as DownThemAll! is an easy method for getting all papers, available for Chrome and Firefox.

IMPORTANT: Ensure that your browser is not set to prompt for the Save location for each download, or you'll need to hit Enter over 500 times!
Chrome :: Settings -> You and Google -> Advanced -> Downloads -> Ask where to save each file before downloading = OFF
Firefox :: Options -> General -> Files and Applications -> Save files to: Downloads

After the plug-in is installed:

  1. Create a folder for the proceedings, and unzip base.zip into this folder
    This action will place the main navigation file—START.PDF—and other necessary files and sub-folders into the current folder
    The DATA folder is where the papers should be put, after downloading them into a temporary folder in the Downloads folder
  2. Create a folder in the Downloads folder, to store the PDFs temporarily
    DownThemAll! puts all downloads in the Downloads folder or sub-folders
  3. Download one of the papers so that your credentials are stored in the browser for the session (first or last name, and registration code)
    The site does not use cookies, so the credentials are not stored between sessions
    You must leave this page/tab open while you perform the subsequent steps
  4. Click the DownThemAll icon, and select DownThemAll!:
    • Check the Documents filter and uncheck any other checked filters
    • In the Download list at the top, uncheck the Program Guide (already included in the base files)
    • Leave the Fast Filtering box empty
    • For the Subfolder, type the temporary folder name that you created in the Downloads folder
    • Leave the Mask option as is. Do not rename the files, or the main navigation file for the proceedings will not work
  5. Click Download, and go have a cup of tea (or coffee)
    IMPORTANT: If your browser is set to ask for the Save location each time, click the DownThemAll icon -> Manager, cancel the queue and remove all downloads, reset your browser to not prompt each time (Settings -> You and Google -> Advanced in Chrome, Options -> General in Firefox), and start again at Step 4
  6. Copy/move all PDFs from your temporary folder to the DATA folder
  7. Open START.PDF to browse the proceedings
